OVERVIEW OF DCS

DCS specializes in strategic transportation and distribution consultancy for the petrochemical, chemical, gas and oil industries. Typical assignments range from benchmarking to new project feasibility studies including complete turnkey logistics assignments for new petrochemical, oil, gas, or other commodity projects including Polyolefins, Methanol, LNG, NH3, Crude, Products and LPG transportation and storage. DCS also specializes in development of new terminals and improvements to existing terminal and distribution operations.

DCS was formed in 1985 by Clarksons which was established in 1852, and has grown to become the world’s largest marine services company. Though today DCS is independent of Clarksons, the two companies continue to cooperate in many areas related to international maritime projects.

DCS has completed numerous assignments for project sponsors, major international companies, governments and financial institutions. DCS shipping studies range from logistic strategy development for new transportation projects, acquisitions of transportation and terminal assets, fleet expansions, to planning and supervising the construction of highly specialized vessels. Capabilities also include state-of-the-art operations research, linear programming and computer modeling as well as econometric applications for planning, optimizing and scheduling fleet and terminal operations.

Terminal efficiency analysis has evolved as part of DCS shipping and distribution studies. This work has been successful in achieving better utilization of client's facilities and reducing demurrage and other costs. DCS has developed a comprehensive multi-client Terminal Performance Analysis program to provide meaningful comparisons of costs, manpower and many other operational measures for the oil, chemical and gas industry. This work has rapidly gained acceptance in the industry as the standard by which distribution facilities are measured. DCS also undertakes studies for new terminals, in addition to assistance in terminal purchase, sale, leasing, risk analysis, and operational optimization.

DCS consultants have extensive international career experience with major oil, chemical and transportation companies. Their hands-on experience is invaluable in ensuring DCS promptly establishes a clear and precise understanding of client's needs and requirements.

We believe the quality of these services will be self-evident from the stature and range of clients DCS has had the privilege to serve.
